About The Position

The Housekeeper performs general cleaning to assure that our community is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. This position is located in the Environmental Services Department at Porter Hills Village and requires working hours from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a housekeeper or cleaner in a long-term care facility or medical environment preferred.
• Must possess knowledge of the appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and floors.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and decorative items.
• Vacuum and mop floors, carpets, and rugs.
• Clean residents' rooms, recreational areas, offices, and hallways as assigned.
• Change bed linens and make beds according to established standards.
• Empty trash containers and dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen surfaces, appliances, and utensils.
• Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning products.
• Organize and maintain storage areas for cleaning supplies and equipment.
