About The Position

Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority is hiring a Housekeeper/Cook Aide. This hybrid position will prepare and serve balanced meals to participants in the Supportive Services Program (SSP) according to federal, state, and local standards. The candidate will be responsible for following dietary and allergen restrictions. This position will also clean, including but not limited to, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, cleaning bathrooms, and performing any necessary light housekeeping tasks in the assigned individual dwelling units. This position requires a commitment to keeping high standards of cleanliness, organization, food safety, and customer service. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask are essential. This role greatly improves the quality of life for residents by maintaining the highest standards and consistency. Our ideal candidate will have two years’ experience as a housekeeper and/or a cook within a commercial setting with food safety knowledge. Must have the ability to interact with the elderly and persons with disabilities in a compassionate, diplomatic, positive and helpful manner. Experience with food preparation, kitchen/dining room operations, and general housekeeping tasks necessary. Must be able to work independently and maintain professional boundaries. Must maintain sensitivity to the needs of persons of diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds and have the ability to work under pressure. This is a full-time, 35-hour work week, position. A valid driver's license and personal auto insurance are required.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience as a housekeeper and/or a cook within a commercial setting with food safety knowledge.

  • Cleaning (mopping, vacuuming, laundry, cleaning bathrooms, and performing any necessary light housekeeping tasks) in the assigned individual dwelling units.
