About The Position

The Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is seeking a full-time Housekeeper/Facilities Support Services employee. This role is primarily responsible for housekeeping, custodial, and laundry services in campus buildings, ensuring a safe, healthy, warm, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. The position involves day-to-day care of the environment, cleaning various facilities, maintaining general upkeep, and performing sanitary inspections. Additionally, the role supports organizational improvement, assists team members, and contributes to establishing housekeeping standards, policy planning, and preventative maintenance. The individual will also be involved in facility inspections for health, safety, and licensing requirements, observing and reporting safety violations, and actively participating in emergency situations. There may also be a variety of semi-skilled work including grounds keeping, food services, and general maintenance to support the Facility Team.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 or older at the time of application
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass a background check, including criminal & abuse
  • Must have a driver's license and have an insurable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Attend to the day-to-day care of the environment for youth, direct care, and administrative staff
  • Clean facilities including entryways, offices, kitchens, bathrooms, and/or floors
  • Clean assigned building(s) daily and maintain general upkeep of these areas
  • Sweep, dust, mop, scrub, wash, vacuum, wax, and polish building floors, walls, woodwork, windows, furniture, equipment, and hardware
  • Clean and sanitize lavatories, washrooms, and bedrooms, keep washrooms supplied with paper, towels, and soap
  • Collect and dispose of trash and garbage; move equipment and furniture such as bed, tables, and chairs
  • Support the improvement of the organization
  • Support other members of the team in carrying out organizational goals and activities
  • Display respect for all voices, all cultures, and all perspectives
  • Keep supervisors and staff informed of any concerns or observations regarding buildings
  • Ensure hazardous materials are stored in compliance with safety procedures
  • Ensure worksites are clean and maintained during, and at the completion of work projects
  • Perform sanitary inspections in designated areas for purposes of infection control
  • May be asked to perform a variety of semi-skilled work including grounds keeping, food services, and general maintenance in agency buildings and grounds to support the Facility Team
  • Establish housekeeping standards; assists with policy, planning and departmental budget requests
  • Participate in development and completion of projects

  • Assist in facility inspections for health, safety and licensing requirements
