About The Position

The Housekeeper - Environmental Services Tech at Kennestone Hospital plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and safety within the hospital environment. This full-time night shift position is responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks, including regular, terminal, and isolation cleaning, while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The role requires effective interaction with staff, patients, and visitors, emphasizing the importance of customer service and teamwork.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some experience in a similar role preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English.
• Completion of the Departmental Training Program within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of restroom and patient room cleaning following established protocols.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards and select appropriate cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain cleanliness of walls, doors, glass, furniture, and floors through various cleaning methods.
• Properly remove and manage waste, including solid, bio-hazard, and chemotherapy waste, following guidelines.
• Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper lifting techniques to ensure safety.
• Participate in special projects and performance improvement initiatives as assigned by the supervisor.
• Exhibit positive customer service skills when interacting with staff, patients, and visitors.
• Document daily assignments and adjust to staff shortages as needed.
