About The Position
The EVS Tech position at Northwestern Medicine reflects the organization's mission, vision, and values, adhering to the Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program. This role is crucial in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The EVS Tech is responsible for cleaning and maintaining patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other assigned areas daily. This includes collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens, and sanitizing all surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment. The position requires following policies and procedures related to patient isolation and contact precautions as necessary, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards. In addition to cleaning duties, the EVS Tech is responsible for stocking paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as needed. Maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of carts and equipment is essential, as is promoting safety in the workplace. This includes using wet floor signs, personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensuring that housekeeping carts and supplies are not left unattended. The role also involves using chemicals and equipment safely and effectively, notifying supervisors of any equipment needing repairs, and reporting safety hazards to management. Effective communication is a key aspect of this role. The EVS Tech must establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with hospital personnel while ensuring patient confidentiality. The ability to articulate the designed scripting model to customers is essential, as is the efficient management of work schedules to complete tasks on time. The EVS Tech contributes to continuous improvement efforts, participates in cost-reduction initiatives, and presents a friendly and professional demeanor to patients and customers. Addressing questions and concerns promptly and providing directions or assistance to patients and customers are also part of the responsibilities. Teamwork is emphasized, with the expectation that the EVS Tech will help co-workers and communicate effectively with others, respecting diverse opinions and contributions.
