About The Position

We are seeking a RN House Supervisor, sometimes referred to as a Hospital House Supervisor or Clinical House Supervisor. The RN House Supervisor will ensure smooth, safe, and efficient clinical operations across the entire hospital. The RN Supervisor is the administrative representative of hospital leadership when management is off-site. The RN House Supervisor will ensure that staffing, patient care, crisis response, and interdepartmental coordination are handled without interruption. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed. Requirements

  • Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • One (1) year prior experience as a Supervisor preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years acute care nursing experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • May directly intervene in emergency situations, including patient codes, Rapid Response activations, or behavioral escalations
  • Monitors patient flow: supervise bed availability and coordinates admissions, discharges, and inter-unit transfers
  • Work closely with the emergency department (ED), intensive care units (ICU), med-surg floors, and ancillary departments (lab, imaging, pharmacy) to avoid bottlenecks
  • Manage staffing by evaluating unit needs based on census, patient acuity, and absences; reallocates existing staff and coordinates float pool, per diem, or agency support
  • Prepare comprehensive shift reports and documents critical incidents—including patient complaints, staff conflicts, injuries, and safety concerns
