El Dorado Springs Behavioral Health is a behavioral health hospital located in
Tucson, Arizona, providing acute inpatient and outpatient mental health and
substance use treatment for adults and seniors across Southern Arizona. 

The hospital offers a full continuum of care, including inpatient psychiatric
stabilization, medically assisted detox (MAT), Partial Hospitalization Program
(PHP), and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). These programs are designed to
support individuals experiencing acute mental health symptoms, substance use
disorders, or co‑occurring conditions in a safe, structured environment.

El Dorado Springs features a state‑of‑the‑art facility with over 100 private and
semi‑private rooms, providing a secure and therapeutic setting focused on
comfort, dignity, and healing. Patients receive 24/7 medically supervised care,
evidence‑based therapy, medication management, and comprehensive discharge and
aftercare planning.

Requirements

• Applicants should have a current state RN license, Associates degree from an accredited nursing school.
• 21 years of age or older
• CPR and de‑escalation certification required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a psychiatric health‑care facility with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients preferred;
• experience in patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations.

Responsibilities

• Manage scheduling and staffing for the nursing department, ensure coverage, minimize overtime and agency use, and approve or deny time‑off requests.
• Monitor staff attendance, maintain records of tardiness and absences, and assist the Director of Nursing with payroll.
• Provide backup nursing and intake assistance, respond to patient needs, and advocate for patients.
• Supervise hospital operations when administration is not present, oversee staff performance, and provide coaching and education as needed.
• Conduct staff evaluations and deliver disciplinary actions professionally and promptly.
• Assist the Director of Nursing in conducting department meetings, document attendance, and prepare meeting minutes.
• Provide support to the intake department as necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory standards (TJC, Medicaid, state and federal laws) and ensure compliance.
• Perform conflict resolution and mediation with staff, involving appropriate leadership when necessary.
• Conduct thorough investigations, collect and document accurate information, and provide reports to appropriate parties.
• Demonstrate comprehensive nursing skills including assessments, treatment planning, admission and discharge procedures, medication administration, and delivery of direct patient care as needed.
• Ensure documentation is timely, accurate, and complete and deliver quality nursing care to achieve treatment plan goals.
