About The Position

The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital offering psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. Our specialized treatment services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, addiction counselors, nurses, and activity therapists. The Ridge Behavioral Health System prides itself as being the only free-standing psychiatric hospital in the Central Kentucky area. We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for over 39 years. The House Supervisor coordinates and supervises personnel providing care to the patients and all components of the treatment program. Performs supportive and performance improvement duties as identified by CNO. Follows and abides by company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities. This opportunity is a full-time, non-exempt position at 36 hours per week, and offers full benefits. This position requires every other weekend commitment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current KY RN Licensure.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Crisis intervention certification required – offered upon hire.
  • One Year RN Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes, directs and controls staffing and daily assignments, based on acuity reports and safe and efficient use of resources.
  • Supervises nursing staff to ensure assigned duties are complete.
  • Completes 'shift staffing report' accurately and completely.
  • Assists with coverage for changes in acuity and alteration in staffing patterns.
  • Identifies process improvement to current methods and takes the lead in implementing these rounds with purpose on units several times per shift, reviews and signs supervisor rounds, asks questions of staff, and is observant of all areas.
  • Performs nursing care monitoring, including patient observations, door lock checks, bedroom laser curtains, crash cart, and infection control.
  • Communicates performance expectations to staff.
  • Assumes responsibility for facility operations when department heads are not present.
  • Performs nurse-to-nurse assessments to determine medical needs. Completes assessment forms for inquiry when the assessment office is busy.
