About The Position

The House Person at The Inn is responsible for providing friendly, attentive, and timely service, which includes performing physical assistance such as lifting and moving heavy objects. The role involves physically demanding household duties and promoting the Sea Island legacy of warm, genuine hospitality while ensuring compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a hotel or resort preferred
  • Experience with floor care, cleaning chemicals, housekeeping equipment and accessories, and ladders preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Must arrive at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company Dress Code Policy

Responsibilities

  • Move furniture or heavy objects as instructed by management
  • Wash soiled glasses in appropriate dishwasher and deliver to section
  • Transport soiled linens to a designated pick-up point and assist with the delivery of clean linens
  • Wash windows, patio furniture, patio railings, floors, mats outside of rooms, entry doors, elevators, stairwells, ash urns, walls, and light fixtures
  • Maintain furniture on and sweep patios and balconies
  • Clean cobwebs in areas
  • Assist in deep clean projects
  • Stock supplies and linens evenly throughout the section
  • Keep elevators, ice rooms, closets, and any other storage and public area clean and free of trash and debris
  • Take trash to dumpsters
  • Install all rollaway beds, cribs, bed boards, refrigerators, microwaves, and dehumidifiers for guest rooms
  • Ensure the guest room is properly supplied and ready for occupancy
  • Properly maintain all equipment used and store in designated areas
  • Clean bathrooms, dust, replenish all paper items, clean all glass and mirrors
  • Replace burned out light bulbs, empty and clean ash trays, empty waste baskets and line them properly
  • Vacuum all public spaces on a daily basis, spot clean carpet when necessary
  • Clean windows, balconies, and patio if applicable
  • Re-supply amenities as necessary
  • Maintain the Public Area Attendant carts and department closets
  • Ensure that all areas are properly supplied and ready for guests
  • Maintain all public areas and other areas as assigned by the manager
  • Follow task schedule established by the Housekeeping department
  • Use cleaning chemicals in a consistent, conservative manner to maximize productivity
  • Learn the names and personally recognize regular guests
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area
  • Complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues and follow-up as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
  • Report equipment problems and maintenance issues, safety hazards, or unsafe practices to supervisor immediately
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
  • Execute other duties as delegated by leadership
