Milton Hershey School (MHS) is a prestigious private institution dedicated to providing an exceptional education to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, spanning from pre-K through 12th grade. The school is fully endowed, thanks to the generosity of its founders, Milton and Catherine Hershey, ensuring that both students and staff have access to the resources they need to thrive. MHS is currently seeking married couples to fill the role of flex houseparents. This unique position requires couples to reside in on-campus student homes, where they will guide and nurture a group of approximately 8-12 students. Flex houseparents play a crucial role in creating a family-like environment for the students, providing stability and support in their daily lives. The responsibilities of flex houseparents include a variety of tasks that are essential for the well-being of the students. These tasks encompass driving students to various activities, administering medication as needed, managing household budgets, and maintaining accurate reports on student progress and needs. Initially, newly hired flex houseparents will rotate among different student homes before being assigned to a specific home, allowing them to adapt to the environment and understand the unique dynamics of each household. This position not only offers a chance to make a significant impact on the lives of young individuals but also provides a supportive community for the houseparents themselves.
