About The Position

The position is for a Foster Parent for a Youth Home, specifically within the Residential Foster Care Children department. This is a full-time contracted stipend role where the individual will live in the home with 4-5 children or sibling groups. The role requires the foster parent to work two weeks on and two weeks off, starting from Friday at 4 PM to the following Friday at 5 PM. The position does not offer earned paid time off and reports to the Program Manager. The home is located in the Augusta area, and the annual compensation ranges from $35,500 to $40,000.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience (preferably at least one year) in dealing with children and adolescents.
  • Must be at least 25 years of age.
  • Must have and maintain a current Georgia’s driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to handle high stress and be well organized.
  • PC related skills and a high degree of detail and follow through.
  • Direct and factual communication style.
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities during the day.
  • Ability to relate to a wide variety of individuals and work as part of a team with all providers and state agency partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi/Lingual is a plus but not necessary.
  • Willingness to participate in initial 40 hours of training and 24 hours of training annually.

Responsibilities

  • Creating a healthy, positive, long-term family living environment for up to four to five children, sibling groups in the home to prepare for reunification with a family member or moving to step down program.
  • Day to day operations of running the home.
  • Participates in treatment team meetings.
  • Overseeing financial operations of the home.
  • Assuring the home meets all regulatory standards.
  • Overall cleanliness of the home.
  • Coordination of home/youth activities and services provided.
  • Responsible for supervision of youth.
  • Overall record keeping required for the home.
  • Communications from home to the office.
  • Transporting youth to activities and school (a company vehicle is provided).
