About The Position

House Manager & Family Assistant Location: Sammamish, Washington (98075) Employment Type: Full-Time Proposed Start Date: ASAP Compensation: $40–45 per hour based on experience. Benefits and guaranteed 40 hours per week with overtime as applicable. Proposed Schedule: Monday–Friday 10-6 with flexibility based on family needs, including afternoon school pickups and occasional support for evening activities. Our days are full with school, sports, and activities, and we truly enjoy being active together as a family. Our children participate in a variety of activities including baseball, soccer, swim lessons , ballet, gymnastics, and competitive dance, which means our household operates on a lively and dynamic schedule. We love spending time outdoors and traveling as a family, whether it’s visiting our cabin, enjoying time on the water, fishing, or traveling to favorite destinations from the mountains to the sea.Ultimately, our home is a place where family, activity, and connection come together. Mom is deeply involved in the daily rhythm of the home and children, and Dad leads a growing land development company. Together we value creating a supportive home environment that allows us to stay connected as a family while managing the many moving parts of a full and active life. Our current nanny and assistant will be welcoming a baby this summer, and we are excited to find the next person who will step into this important role in our home. You bring warmth, positivity, and emotional intelligence to your work with an eye for detail and keeping the entire home tidy and running smoothly. You genuinely enjoy being around children and know how to connect with them in playful, nurturing ways while maintaining structure, consistency, and healthy boundaries. You are able to shift seamlessly between supporting the children, assisting parents, and managing household responsibilities with confidence and ease. You are organized and systems-minded, with the ability to manage calendars, schedules, household systems, and ongoing tasks without needing constant direction. You enjoy working independently and taking ownership of your responsibilities. You approach your work with professionalism, reliability, and care. You understand the importance of discretion, communication, and trust when working in a private home. Most importantly, you are someone who values building a long-term relationship with a family and are excited about growing alongside them over time.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
  • Reset and tidy rooms throughout the day to maintain home order
  • Oversee household schedules and calendars in collaboration with Mom
  • Conduct seasonal swaps for clothing and household items
  • Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs and household organization projects
  • Support packing and unpacking for travel
  • Coordinate and supervise household service providers
  • Maintain tidy high-traffic areas throughout the day
  • Maintain indoor plants
  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and household supplies
  • Maintain running household supply lists
  • Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
  • Run errands including grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, and gift purchasing
  • Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries
  • Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the family
  • Assist with school lunches and after-school snacks
  • Shop for groceries and maintain kitchen inventory
  • Follow dietary needs and preferences, including 1 child with peanut allergy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen after meal preparation
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry
  • Manage linens and refresh towels
  • Maintain organized laundry systems
  • Handle sports uniforms and specialty clothing
  • Maintain cat care including feeding and monitoring automated litter system
  • Schedule grooming or vet visits as needed
  • Keep pet supplies stocked and organized
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance and inspections
  • Ensure family vehicles are clean and organized
  • Track registration, insurance, and service schedules
  • Coordinate with cleaners, contractors, and service providers
  • Schedule repairs and home maintenance projects
  • Coordinate detailing and upkeep of family boats
  • Monitor household operations and upkeep
  • Assist with school and activity pick-ups as requested
  • Occasionally provide light supervision and playtime with children
  • Prepare backpacks, clothing, and snacks for activities
  • Assist with child-related errands and organization
  • Coordinate with cleaning team for deep cleaning oversight
  • Maintain key zones including mudroom, entryways, and play areas
  • Organize seasonal items and toys
  • Coordinate home maintenance items such as air filters and lighting
  • Assist with outdoor seasonal projects (sand and bardust refill)
  • Assist with travel planning and scheduling logistics
  • Maintain family calendars and reminders
