About The Position

Join Our Team as a House Keeper! Are you passionate about working with the elderly, and making a real difference in their lives? EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 80,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated full time House Keeper to join our Expanded In-Home Services For the Elderly program. Wage: $22 per hour Schedule: 9AM-5PM, Monday- Friday (Morning client is from 9 to 1230 then you'll meet with your afternoon client from 130 to 5) Location: The job location varies on where the clients live. The home office location is1505 Kellum place in Mineola NY Primary Purpose of Job: The Housekeeper will support the independence and enhance the quality of life of homebound seniors by providing housekeeping services to various homebound seniors in their homes.

Requirements

• Valid NYS Drivers License, with no record of suspensions and access to automobile required to travel between homes if required to drive or accompany clients.
• High School Diploma or educational equivalent preferred.
• Before the first day of employment, must provide documentation from health care professional that confirms good physical health, free from health impairments along with record of immunization for Rubella and results of PPD skin test.
• An annual health status and PPD test will be required.
• Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of homebound senior citizens.
• Ability to assess and identify problems and exercise professional judgment in determining an appropriate solution.
• Ability to articulate ideas both verbally and in writing and follow instructions.
• Must be able to travel to clients homes and climb stairs if necessary.
• Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. if needed.
• Proficient in computer programs necessary to perform work assignments.

Nice To Haves

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Making and changing clients beds.
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping the rooms utilized by clients.
• Light cleaning of kitchen, bedroom, living area and bathroom (including appliances and countertops).
• Laundry at on or off-site laundromat.
• Preparing meals if needed.
• Miscellaneous errands including putting out garbage, ironing, accompanying the client to medical appointments, supermarket, bank, etc. if necessary.
• Perform all other relevant duties as determined by Supervision and EAC Network administration.
