House Director Convene Hospitality Group is seeking a visionary House Director to lead the ongoing operations and cultural evolution of our NeueHouse Madison Square location. As the strategic and operational heartbeat of this iconic space, you are responsible for its commercial success, financial health, and the delivery of a world-class member and guest experience. You will provide executive oversight to a multidisciplinary team—encompassing Membership Experience, Event Operations, Food & Beverage Programs, AV Production, and Facilities—ensuring every activation is executed with the precision and hospitality synonymous with the NeueHouse brand. Reporting to Convene Hospitality Group Leadership you will drive top-line revenue, optimize expenditures, and cultivate a high-performance culture that sets the global standard for service excellence and creative community building. About NeueHouse Madison Square Located in the heart of the Flatiron District, NeueHouse Madison Square is a landmark of New York’s creative scene, housed in a historic 1913 industrial building that once served as an auction house. NeueHouse Madison Square offers a timeless design, emotive experiences, and elevated hospitality. Across eight floors, it offers special event spaces, membership lounges, private office suites, and a members-only restaurant and bar, all artfully blending an edgy, industrial aesthetic with the comfort and warmth of a designer residence. What You’ll Do: Leadership & Team Management Provide vision, direction, and day-to-day leadership for all venue departments. Oversee and support department heads, including Executive Chef, Service Manager, Membership Experience Director, Event Producers, and AV Production Team. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability. Recruit, train, mentor, and develop team members to achieve operational, membership and financial goals. Operational Excellence Ensure the venue is guest-ready and delivers a world-class experience for every event. Oversee event logistics, setups, culinary and beverage program execution, AV production, and vendor coordination. Monitor and continuously improve operational workflows for efficiency and quality. Implement and enforce venue policies, safety protocols, and compliance with local regulations. Financial Management Develop, manage, and achieve the venue’s annual budget, including revenue, expenses, and profitability targets. Analyze financial reports, track KPIs, and adjust operations to meet or exceed goals. Negotiate vendor contracts and optimize cost controls without compromising quality. Drive strategies to increase revenue opportunities and maximize event profitability. Client & Stakeholder Relations Serve as the senior point of contact for clients, members, vendors, and key partners when needed. Support the sales, brand and production teams to ensure events are executed according to client expectations. Address escalated issues with professionalism, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business Strategic Planning & Growth Identify opportunities for new services, process improvements, and venue upgrades. Partner with ownership to develop long-term growth strategies and implement best practices. Monitor industry trends to keep the venue competitive and innovative This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and presence during major events and day to day membership operations. The House Director should thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing client-facing responsibilities with operational and financial performance management while representing the brand.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience in event venue management, membership, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of achieving financial targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong operational expertise in event logistics, food & beverage programs, and technical production.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, membership and event-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with budgeting, financial reporting, and KPI analysis.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to support event operations.
