About The Position

The House Director at North Carolina State University plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive and engaging living environment for fraternity and sorority members. Requirements

  • Experience in student affairs or residential life management.

  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures related to student conduct and safety.
  • Experience in crisis management and emergency response.

Responsibilities

  • Create a sense of community by promoting peer accountability among chapter residents.
  • Provide training on university policies reinforcing community standards.
  • Maintain a high level of visibility within the residential community as an on-site advisor.
  • Meet regularly with organization leadership, advisors, and House Corporation volunteers.
  • Advise student residents on program development, policies, risk management, and leadership.
  • Serve as a mediator to assist residents in addressing community conflicts.
  • Maintain an environment conducive to student academic success and safety.
  • Provide leadership and administrative operations for a residential house of about 40 residents.
  • Make informed decisions regarding house operations and community issues.
  • Serve as a communication link between Fraternity and Sorority Life, House Corporation, and residents.
  • Oversee daily operations including facilities and financial budget management.
  • Respond to student concerns and enforce university policies and regulations.
  • Make appropriate referrals to university support services during crises.
  • Coordinate fall and spring student check-in and check-out processes.
  • Manage room assignments and changes for the facility.
  • Coordinate inspections and identify facility needs.
  • Work with vendors and maintenance workers to ensure compliance with agreements.
