About The Position

At Essen Health Care, the largest privately held multispecialty medical group in the Bronx, we provide high-quality, compassionate, and accessible medical care to some of the most vulnerable and under-served residents of New York State. Guided by a Population Health model of care, Essen has five integrated clinical divisions offering urgent care, primary care, and specialty services, as well as nursing home staffing and care management. Clinical services are offered via telehealth or in-person at over 35 medical offices and at home through the Essen House Calls program. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Podiatrist to provide high-quality, in-home foot and ankle care to patients across all five boroughs of New York City. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, patient-focused clinician who thrives in a mobile care environment and is passionate about improving access to care for homebound and underserved populations.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited school of podiatric medicine.
  • Current and unrestricted New York State podiatry license.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and mobile documentation tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Board certification or board eligibility in podiatric medicine or surgery (preferred).
  • Home care experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to patients’ homes to deliver podiatric evaluations, treatments, and follow-up care.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including but not limited to diabetic foot care, ulcers, infections, corns, calluses, and toenail disorders.
  • Provide wound care management and preventive foot care education to patients and caregivers.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the organization’s electronic health record system.
  • Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure proper use of medical equipment and supplies during visits.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
