About The Position

The Hourly Parking Facilities Assistant provides administrative and operational support for the Parking Facilities and Maintenance team. This position assists with managing work orders, tracking projects, documenting maintenance activities, coordinating contractor parking, and processing departmental expenses and purchase orders. The role also includes performing site visits, preparing reports, and supporting special projects. At times, the Assistant may work alongside maintenance and custodial staff to help complete work orders and ensure projects are delivered on time. This position is governed by the agency/institution policy. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s License
  • Experience with administrative support, project documentation, and project coordination
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to effectively communicate to be able to perform job duties

Nice To Haves

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • Experience with a computerized work management system (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of campus parking facilities, buildings, and contractor access requirements
  • Knowledge of office practices, recordkeeping, and work management systems
  • Skill in organizing, prioritizing, and tracking multiple projects simultaneously
  • Skill in preparing reports, maintaining documentation, and supporting financial transactions
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide responsive customer service
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with custodial, maintenance, and administrative staff
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to assist with field work, site visits, and special projects when needed
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support the overall mission of the department
