Hourly Maintenance Assistant
About The Position
The Hourly Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting in daily parking garage maintenance and general labor activities. This position performs maintenance by collecting and removing trash from the parking structures and the surrounding grounds, sanitizing and cleaning pay stations, fire boxes, handrails, elevator cars, etc., operates custodial equipment, drives university vehicles, installs signposts and signage, collects meter payments, stripes parking lots, pressure washes parking garages, and other duties as assigned. The Maintenance Assistant reports needed repairs and safety issues encountered in the facility. This position is governed by the agency/institution policy. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to effectively communicate to be able to perform job duties
Nice To Haves
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
- Experience in general maintenance, custodial duties, or a related field
