Job Title: Hourly Lead Person - Distribution - Mid Shift Location : Lakeville DC Department: Outbound Job Objective : Provide leadership and direction to associates on assigned shift. Ensure associates are productively engaged in their assigned tasks and following approved procedures. Monitor associate performance and provide training/feedback as required to ensure performance meets standards for productivity, safety, customer service, and teamwork. Fill in as Team Leader in the absence of the department Team Leader.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of distribution experience in at least two departments (receiving, replenishment, order picking, returns, shipping, inventory control) required.
  • Minimum of 1 year working with Warehouse Management Systems, Radio Frequency Devices, Freight Manifest Systems, forklifts, and conveyors required.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to lead teams and/or groups of individuals and work effectively with others.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be capable of providing performance feedback to individuals as well as communicating and leading teams of up to 50 associates and temporary help.
  • Must be comfortable with using computers in completing production tasks and investigating and resolving exceptions.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Physical tasks will require walking, climbing steps/ladders, working at height, and lifting cartons up to 50 lbs.
  • Must pass distribution work ability screening test.
  • Must be able to obtain company forklift operator's license.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of lead, or area coordinator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct shifts start up meetings, ensure all associates are assigned tasks, reassign associates between tasks/departments to meet workload requirements/operational priorities. Monitor output throughout the shift and adjust associate assignments to meet processing deadlines. Ensure task assignment rotation is followed and that all associates receive required cross training.
  • Monitor associate performance to ensure standards for productivity, safety, customer service, and teamwork are met. Provide direct performance feedback to associates on regular basis. Provide corrective coaching/retraining and escalate issues to the Team Lead as appropriate. Monitor and report on associate time management performance.
  • Ensure associates exercise proper use and care of facility equipment, material handling systems, and information technology. Ensure associates report any incidents, near misses, accidents, or injuries in accordance with Acushnet safety policy.
  • Assist department team leaders in accomplishing the daily distribution mission. Ensure team leader directives are carried out and exceptions are reported back to the team leader. Fill in for department team leaders in their absence.
