About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of cleaning activities in assigned buildings and facilities, ensuring they are kept in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition. The role involves various tasks related to the area of assignment, including high dusting, sanitizing, bathroom cleaning, and maintaining public common areas.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic operations of janitorial work.
• Familiarity with methods, materials, and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Understanding of safe work practices and the use of cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning duties, including lifting, climbing, and bending.

Responsibilities

• Perform high dusting using a treated high duster in a counter-clockwise direction.
• Sanitize and spot clean surfaces below shoulder height using a germicidal solution.
• Clean bathrooms, including sinks and toilets, using appropriate cleaning solutions.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Dust mop or vacuum floors, ensuring to clean under furniture.
• Maintain outside areas by cleaning ash urns and trash cans, and policing sidewalks and parking lots for trash.
• Clean public common areas, including hallways and glass surfaces.
• Sanitize floors using the proper germicidal solution.
• Inspect completed work and make corrections as needed.
• Provide customer service by being friendly and courteous to customers.
