About The Position

Herschend is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Hotel Operations Intern to join Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel, located in the heart of Downtown Nashville. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn the day-to-day operations of a luxury lifestyle hotel while working alongside experienced hospitality professionals in Rooms Operations and Front Desk. The Hotel Operations Intern position provides a unique opportunity for the right individual to take part in the pre-opening efforts for Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel featuring 245 rooms, two F&B Entertainment venues, a market, and Dolly Parton’s Museum. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, enjoys working with people, and has a passion for creating welcoming, memorable guest experiences. This role will provide hands-on exposure to hotel operations, guest service standards, and the behind-the-scenes coordination required to deliver exceptional hospitality. The Hotel Operations Intern will support the Rooms Division team, assisting Front Desk and Housekeeping operations while gaining practical experience in guest service, hotel procedures, and daily operational flow. This internship is designed to provide broad exposure to hotel operations and help develop future hospitality leaders. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Hospitality, Business, or related program preferred.
  • Strong interest in hotel operations, guest service, or hospitality leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Front Desk team with guest service activities, including check-in support, guest requests, and lobby presence.
  • Support Rooms Operations team with daily coordination between Front Desk and Housekeeping.
  • Observe and learn hotel service standards, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Help ensure guest areas, front desk, and lobby spaces are organized and presentation-ready.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, reports, and departmental projects as assigned.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and operational briefings.
  • Provide friendly, professional interactions with guests and team members at all times.
  • Support special projects related to pre-opening, training, or operational readiness as needed.
