Responsible for demonstrating and promoting SRHM’s core value of the golden rule by treating guests, vendors, and employees in the same way we would like to be treated. With minimal supervision and guidance from the Maintenance Director is responsible and accountable in assisting in the planning and coordination of all functions of the maintenance department to ensure an efficiently run hotel for environmental services by performing the following duties.

  • Assists in monitoring, coordinating or completing maintenance duties to ensure the hotel is always in a clean, orderly, safe and attractive condition.
  • Reacts and takes the lead in emergency repairs of any kind regarding equipment breakdown, seeks methods for completing repairs and accomplishes same within maintenance tech’s technical capabilities.
  • Assists and follows through on aesthetic improvement plans both inside and outside the building that include but are not limited to painting, including touch-up painting, staining woodwork, drywall repairs and minor building repairs.
  • Assists housekeeping with moving furniture in rooms, as well as relocating guests when appropriate as deemed necessary by the General Manager.
  • Provides hands-on repairs on an as-needed basis to ensure a pro-active approach to all maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for always wearing clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy.
  • Coordinates contracted services and monitors all maintenance functions to ensure adherence to schedule and quality are in the best interest of the hotel.
  • Performs daily walk-arounds both inside and outside of the hotel to monitor and schedule timely repairs and touch-ups in all areas that need attention.
  • Responsible for always responding promptly and courteously to guest, vendor and associate requests for assistance.
  • Responsible for speaking and interacting with guests; consistently demonstrating empathy, kindness, compassion and respect.
  • Maintains a safe and secure working environment, free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to guests, vendors, visitors and associates.
  • Responsible for always practicing good body mechanics and safe working habits.
  • Observes, repairs, and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor.
  • Knows, understands, and follows established policy and procedures in emergency situations.
  • Responsible for being considered essential personnel during emergencies (during and after-hours) and/or inclement weather and is required to report or remain at hotel until released by supervisor.
  • Responsible for always demonstrating a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies and procedures.
  • Complies with attendance and call off policy.
  • Attends and/or participates in trainings, in-service and mandatory meetings.
  • Responsible for willingly taking on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties.
  • Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested by General Manager / Supervisor.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before customers or associates of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight, measurement, volume and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
