The Staybridge Suites Seattle-Fremont is looking for a strong, results-driven candidate for our available Maintenance Manager position. The individual should be a motivated self-starter that is willing to take pride and ownership in the property condition. The hotel requires an engineer that is able to use judgement and past experience to make on-the-spot decisions for time pressing tasks and manage them through completion. As a department head, the right fit will be a team player and provide hands-on training to other members of the department. Open availability is needed as there are no set days off.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance for guest rooms, public areas, and hotel equipment
  • Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance staff
  • Assign, manage, and delegate work to ensure the timely completion of multiple tasks
  • Work closely with the General Manager as a department head and support staff
  • Work closely with the other department heads and assist when needed
  • Take written and verbal direction; communicate effectively via phone, email, and computer systems
  • Identify when repairs require outside contractors; obtain multiple bids and select the best value
  • Oversee contractors onsite and follow up to ensure quality and timely completion
  • Respond quickly to maintenance emergencies and make repair decisions to minimize guest impact
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed, equipment failures, inventory, and purchase orders
  • Order tools, equipment, fixtures, and rental equipment; coordinate delivery and return
  • Ensure all equipment is organized, inventoried, and properly maintained
  • Maintain knowledge of plumbing, gas, electrical, and water shutoff locations
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, company policies, and safety regulations
  • Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, professional appearance, and a safe work environment
  • HVAC/PTAC maintenance, troubleshooting, filter changes, fan replacement, and debris removal
  • Electrical repairs, including outlets, GFI, breakers, fuses, light fixtures, and basic troubleshooting
  • Plumbing repairs, including fixtures, gaskets, drain clearing, leak detection, and pipe replacement (PVC, copper, flexible)
  • Pool and spa maintenance, including chemical balancing, testing, cleaning, and filter backwashing
  • Ice machine cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Door hardware, locks, closers, and hotel lock programming
  • Carpentry, drywall, painting, caulking, tile, grout, wall vinyl, and fixture installation
  • Laundry equipment, preventive maintenance, and vent cleaning
  • TV, remote, and telephone troubleshooting
  • Exterior and grounds maintenance, including power washing, irrigation repair, drain clearing, and debris removal
  • Carpet cleaning and general facility upkeep
