About The Position

Under general supervision, performs a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, grounds, and equipment. Performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds- including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and painting tasks; repairs and treats structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets; performs minor troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments of locks on doors, cabinets, desks, closets; repairs door hinges; changes filters on heating, ventilating and air conditioning units; services appliances, reports mechanical malfunctions to appropriate party for action; moves and assists in moving furniture. exercises discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person; updates work logs. maintains clean, safe, and orderly work sites. Maintain the Property’s wastewater treatment facility and fountain-keeping a daily log of chlorine levels and making necessary adjustments. Requirements

• Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of the building trades.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Communicate with guests/customers when necessary to resolve maintenance issues.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Working knowledge of most hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Basic math skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• The ability to work with a flexible work schedule with overtime as requested to accommodate the needs of maintenance, conferences, and special events.
• Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Company’s values of exhibiting the highest quality standard in all endeavors.
• Ability to respond to emergency call-ins during the day or night.

• Prior experience in the hospitality industry or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of maintenance duties, including minor electrical and plumbing, repair carpets, shelves, painting, roofing, HVAC, etc.
• Identifies and performs basic repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks; opens clogged lines and drains; replaces washers and other minor parts; applies and prepares various surfaces for paint, enamel, lacquer, varnish, or stain; repairs wall coverings.
• Perform daily rounds and maintenance to Wastewater Treatment Plant.
• Monthly cleaning of refrigeration coils and filters replacement.
• Perform daily rounds, record utility readings, indentifying maintenance items, such as burned-out light bulbs, sprinklers that need repair, scratched doors, seals, etc.
• Maintain and repair housekeeping equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, laundry dryers, washing machines, and press.
