About The Position

DoubleTree Hotel by the Galleria is seeking a Hotel Maintenance Engineer. The role involves performing preventative maintenance in guest rooms and assigned areas, assisting with electrical systems and major repairs of hotel equipment, servicing the pool, maintaining the building exterior, and responding to guest maintenance calls. Candidates should have hotel, apartment, or office building engineering experience and enjoy engaging with guests.

Requirements

Must have the ability to communicate in English both verbal and written
At least two (2) years previous engineering/maintenance experience in hotel, hospital, apartment or office building
Flexible to work AM, mid-shift, PM, overnight, weekends and holidays
Able to use computer or tablet
Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, stand on feet for at least eight (8) hours and able to lift, push or pull 25 lbs. to 75 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, H.V.A.C., boilers highly preferred
Experience in painting, drywall, calking and carpentry highly preferred

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance in guest rooms and assigned areas of the hotel
Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement
Assist with major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen and laundry equipment, boilers, HVAC, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems
Assist with servicing the pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning/changing filters
Maintain the building exterior to include lawn care, power washing, spreading salt for icy conditions
Respond to guest calls regarding maintenance issues in guest rooms and fix the issue
