About The Position

The Hotel Laundry Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation standards of the hotel by efficiently managing the laundering of linens, towels, uniforms, and other fabric items. This position ensures that all laundry items are cleaned, dried, folded, and delivered promptly to meet the operational needs of the hotel, contributing directly to guest satisfaction and overall hotel hygiene. The attendant will operate and maintain laundry equipment, monitor inventory of laundry supplies, and adhere to safety and quality standards throughout the laundering process. Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential to ensure that all items are handled with care and returned in excellent condition. Ultimately, this role supports the hotel's commitment to providing a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all guests and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment safely.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Basic understanding of fabric care and laundry procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron hotel linens, towels, and staff uniforms according to established procedures and fabric care guidelines.
  • Operate commercial laundry machines and equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting minor issues as needed.
  • Inspect laundered items for stains, damage, or wear and report any issues to management for appropriate action.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including proper storage of detergents, chemicals, and supplies.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure timely delivery and pickup of laundry items to meet daily operational demands.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to laundry operations and chemical handling.
  • Record and report laundry usage, inventory levels, and any equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
