About the position

The position involves performing routine duties in the cleaning and servicing of assigned areas to ensure that guests are supplied with the appropriate supplies. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to standard hotel procedures to maintain cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Makes beds neatly with fresh sheets and pillow cases.
  • Picks up pins and paper from the floor, removes and empties trash in waste baskets, cleans mirrors and shelves, wipes door frames, window sills, and baseboards, and arranges furniture properly.
  • Cleans bathrooms, scrubbing basin, bathtub, toilet, and tile floor with damp rag and appropriate cleaners, disinfecting surfaces.
  • Replenishes supplies and places clean towels on racks.
  • Places proper quantities of pens, stationery, soap, and tissue in the room.
  • Reports all rooms vacated and cleaned, rooms occupied and cleaned, and any unusual condition of furniture or rooms needing repair.
  • Turns in all lost and found articles immediately.
  • Operates a light vacuum sweeper.
  • Fills out maintenance work order forms notifying Maintenance and Housekeeping of any maintenance problems.
  • Completes all assigned tasks on checklist and completes walkthrough with Manager to ensure all tasks were completed before clocking out.
  • Performs other related and unrelated tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of applicable franchise standards and procedures.
  • Ability to complete applicable housekeeping forms and communicate any problems and/or unusual conditions to Housekeeping supervisory staff.
  • Ability to positively and effectively communicate with guests and team members.
  • Ability to work within scheduling guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to follow schedule and perform physical labor.
