About The Position

This position is for a Hotel Housekeeper responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of a hotel environment. Key duties include stocking maid carts, stripping beds, managing laundry, cleaning various public and private areas such as the housekeeping office, vending/ice areas, elevator lobbies, and hallways. The role requires operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, handling chemicals safely, and continuously removing trash. A strong commitment to guest satisfaction and exemplary guest service is essential, along with adherence to safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Must be able to follow security policies and procedures and report all violations
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work shifts including nights, weekends, holidays
  • Ability to speak, read and write English
  • Superior guest relation skills are necessary

  • Previous janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maid Carts stocked throughout the day and at end of day
  • Stripping all beds in timely fashion on both floors
  • Laundry bins brought up from P-1
  • Housekeeping office shelves are fully stocked at end of day
  • Vending/Ice area and Elevator Lobbies cleaned throughout the day
  • Laundry bags for dirty linen are cleared throughout the day
  • All bins more than half full of dirty laundry are taken to P-1 by end of day
  • Hallways are vacuumed Thursday-Monday
  • Monday and Thursday the hallway carpet edging is vacuumed with backpack vacuum
  • Supplies stocked as needed
  • Maintain a commitment to guest satisfaction and exemplary guest service
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with safety procedures, including use of required safety equipment
  • Identify unsafe practices or conditions and inform supervisor of any unsafe conditions
  • Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment
  • Remove trash on a continuous basis throughout the hotel
  • Handle cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and company requirements
