About The Position

The Hotel Guest Service Representative position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests at the hotel. This role involves greeting and registering guests, managing room assignments, and ensuring guest safety by adhering to established security procedures. The representative will also handle inquiries about hotel services and local attractions, manage reservations, and maintain the cleanliness of the front desk area.

Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.
• Basic computer skills for managing reservations and inquiries.

• Previous experience in customer service or hospitality.
• Familiarity with hotel management software.

Responsibilities

• Greets, registers, and suggestively sells hotel rooms to guests.
• Issues room keys and assigns rooms to guests.
• Sets wake-up calls in an efficient, warm, and friendly manner.
• Ensures guest safety by following established security procedures.
• Date stamps, sorts, and racks incoming mail, faxes, and messages.
• Records and communicates hotel guest special requests and problems to the appropriate department.
• Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services and local attractions.
• Accurately checks out guests and communicates departures with housekeeping staff.
• Processes bills, collects payments, and makes change for guests.
• Makes, confirms, and cancels reservations via telephone, computer, and in writing.
• Answers and routes internal and external phone calls in a friendly manner.
• Posts charges such as room, food, liquor, or telephone to the ledger.
• Deposits guests' valuables in the hotel safe or safe deposit box.
• Maintains the shift-to-shift log accurately.
• Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the hotel lobby and front desk area.
