The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and profitability of the hotel, overseeing operations across sales, front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, banquets, and maintenance while maintaining high brand standards and a strong service culture. Sand Hospitality is seeking an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead the Country Inn & Suites in Mankato, Minnesota, a full-service hotel that includes Legends Bar & Grill and banquet/event operations.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of Hotel General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience
  • Full-service hotel experience strongly preferred
  • Experience overseeing food & beverage and banquet operations
  • Strong knowledge of hotel financials, budgeting, and P&L management
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth and operational performance
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • Degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership of the hotel including front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, maintenance, and sales teams.
  • Maintain high guest satisfaction and brand standards while fostering a culture focused on service excellence and accountability.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure operational and brand compliance.
  • Oversee Legends Bar & Grill and banquet/event operations.
  • Ensure high-quality food and beverage service while managing cost controls, labor efficiency, and inventory management.
  • Develop strategies to grow local dining and banquet business within the Mankato community.
  • Partner with the Sales team to implement aggressive sales and marketing strategies that drive occupancy, ADR, and event revenue.
  • Build relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders to generate group business and events.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Management team on pricing strategy and forecasting.
  • Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Maintain strong internal financial controls and operational discipline.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing hospitality professionals.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and leadership development.
  • Foster a positive and engaged workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety procedures, and health regulations.
  • Work with Human Resources on employee relations, compliance, and workforce management.
