The Hotel General Manager is responsible for overseeing, directing, and managing the operations of a single property to ensure optimal performance and continuous improvement in key performance indicators. This role requires a commitment to providing the best possible experience for guests and employees, ensuring 100% guest satisfaction. The General Manager will coordinate and manage the staff and daily hotel operations to achieve profitability, guest satisfaction, and efficiency while adhering to the standards set by the company. Key responsibilities include maximizing revenues and ensuring that the property meets or exceeds budgeted EBITDA. The General Manager will monitor labor standards and property-level expenses to achieve maximum profitability. They will also oversee the collection of in-house guest balances, direct bill receivables, and commission payments by vendors. Additionally, the General Manager will participate in and monitor the monthly inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring that purchases are made within budget and from approved vendors. The role involves working closely with the District Manager and Regional Director of Field Sales to manage all sales activities of the property, setting goals, completing competitive surveys, taking reservations, and compiling reports. The General Manager will identify and seek out potential business opportunities in the local market, maintaining relationships with local companies to increase the company's visibility. They will instill a culture of 100% guest satisfaction throughout the property and ensure that all guest-related issues are resolved in alignment with the company's goals. Recruitment and training of qualified applicants are also key duties, along with communicating policies and procedures to the staff. Regular meetings will be conducted to provide updates on company communications, policy reviews, and local property activities. The General Manager will inspect and document repairs and cleanliness of the property to ensure optimal upkeep and appearance. This position directly manages an Assistant General Manager and supervises a total of 8 to 10 employees on the property, ensuring compliance with ESH standards and policies.
