About The Position

The Hotel Front Desk Agent at Indus Hospitality Group is responsible for providing exceptional guest service while performing a variety of front desk activities. This role is crucial in ensuring guests have a pleasant experience from check-in to check-out, and involves managing reservations, handling guest inquiries, and maintaining the front desk area. The position emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to the company's values of growth, loyalty, respect, and flexibility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Internet navigation and Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and associates.
  • Maintain a valid New York State Drivers License with no major violations (for select service properties).
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Familiarity with hotel management software.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.
  • Answer telephone inquiries.
  • Post charges (room, food, telephone), compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests.
  • Make and confirm reservations.
  • Monitor room availability and block rooms as needed.
  • Program wake-up calls for guests.
  • Handle guest mail and messages.
  • Perform check-out services for departing guests.
  • Open and close shifts, making cash drops as necessary.
  • Maintain market stock and coffee area as needed.
  • Provide information about hotel services and local area to guests.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of the lobby and surrounding areas.
  • Check lobby fixtures and report deficiencies.
  • Schedule shuttle runs for guests when applicable.
  • Provide safe transportation to guests using the hotel shuttle vehicle when applicable.
  • Perform laundry duties as needed.
  • Maintain the continental breakfast area, including closing and cleaning.
