About The Position

The Events Houseman is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of event spaces to ensure smooth and successful functions. This seasonal, on-call role offers a flexible schedule based on business needs, supporting a variety of events.

  • The ability to work varying schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business operations dictates
  • The ability to read and understand documents, drawings, and instructions (whether presented in written, oral, diagram or schedule form).
  • The ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts to practical situations.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • The ability to perform several tasks at once.
  • The ability to follow directions or instruction.
  • The ability to use a computer to communicate, create, and access information.
  • The ability to lift and move 50 pounds.
  • The ability to sit/stand/bend/stretch, etc.
  • The ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with the hands and arms

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in hospitality, events, or banquet setup is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Set up event spaces according to diagrams (tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, etc.)
  • Break down and clean event areas after functions
  • Transport equipment such as linens, furniture, and audiovisual gear
  • Ensure rooms are clean, organized, and event-ready at all times
  • Assist event coordinators and banquet staff during events as needed
  • Respond quickly to guest or staff requests during events
  • Maintain storage areas and keep inventory organized
  • Follow safety procedures when lifting and moving equipment
