As a Hotel Engineer, it's your job to troubleshoot and repair hotel equipment, facilities, and systems (including HVAC and electrical). Your job duties include performing preventative maintenance, making regular inspections, coordinating the maintenance staff, diagnosing potential problems, and staying within budget. The ideal candidate must thrive in a challenging and fast-paced atmosphere where prioritizing and multitasking are the norm. Exceptional attention to detail and first-class organizational skills are mandatory.

  • Ensure the consistent execution of service standards

  • Provide repairs to hotel equipment including electrical, plumbing, fire and safety, HVAC refrigeration, interior, paint and decorating
  • Ensure the company’s compliance with relevant regulations
  • Own preventative maintenance daily
  • Strong communication with front desk, housekeeping, dryland and F&B operations
  • Comply with town regulations
  • Check in and check out protocols with daily usage of the maintenance work order system
  • Daily use of Alice software to connect with guests and resolve maintenance issues
  • Communicate efficiently with all Gravity Haus divisions to create a memorable guest experience

  • 3+ years experience in hotel maintenance or a similar position
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel on a timely basis
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning and repair/maintenance tasks
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
  • Must have the ability to bend, squat, and frequently lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with team members and stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Knowledge of various tools and equipment used in engineering/maintenance
  • Adaptable and innovative
  • Ability to voice opinions and share ideas and best practices
