About The Position

Chief Engineer Hampton Inn Louisville Oxmoor The new Hampton Inn Louisville Oxmoor is seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Engineer to lead all aspects of hotel maintenance and facilities operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for both guests and team members while supporting the hotel's operational and brand standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and proactive, with strong leadership skills and a passion for preventative maintenance and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Previous hotel maintenance or engineering leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Availability to respond to on-call or emergency situations as required.
  • Commitment to guest satisfaction, safety, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all maintenance operations for the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and exterior grounds.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to protect hotel assets and minimize downtime.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance-related guest concerns and emergency situations.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, brand, safety, and security policies and procedures.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance logs, inspections, and required documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control maintenance-related expenses.
  • Perform regular inspections and walk-throughs to identify maintenance issues and ensure overall property condition.
  • Partner with hotel leadership to support operational needs and long-term property improvement initiatives.
  • Complete additional projects and duties as assigned by the General Manager.
