Location: Hotel Arista Department: Hotel Arista Kitchen Reports to: Executive Sous Chef Status: Hourly Non-exempt Compensation: $18.00 - 23.00/hour, commensurate with experience and education. Availability: Must have an open and flexible schedule Role Summary: The Banquet Cook is responsible for creating an exceptional culinary experience for our event guests through the preparation and presentation of our events menu.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Culinary degree from a recognized culinary institute, or equivalent experience
  • One year experience as a line cook preferred
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  • Neat and clean appearance
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular and continuing basis.

Responsibilities

  • Assists cooks and chefs in the preparation of foods according to event orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures.
  • Preps food for banquets in accordance to established standardized recipes.
  • Sets up station and ensures that the work area is operated in an efficient manner.
  • Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the banquet Chefs.
  • Cleans as needed throughout shift.
  • Supports the cross-training efforts of the chef.
  • Informs supervisor of any kitchen machinery that is not working properly.
  • Properly stores food labeled and dated in designated containers and areas to prevent spoilage.
  • Assists in the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
  • Follows hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
