About The Position

Tharaldson Hospitality is looking for a Hotel Accountant to join our team! This position will perform the day to day, monthly, and annual activities associated with maintaining accurate accounting records and timely preparation of financial reports for hotels. Requirements

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience required in a related accounting position.
  • Ability to converse fluidly about a variety of topics and speak effectively to customers, management, and fellow employees.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports.
  • Knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and knowledge of GP Dynamics and M3 Software highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Regular cash reconciliation.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliation; preparation of month-end journal entries and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements following USALI guidelines.
  • Assist with annual budget and audit processes.
  • Prepare annual personal property renditions and quarterly FF&E draw requests.
  • Work as a part of a team on hotel-related accounting projects.
  • Review and update processes to gain efficiencies.
  • Regular communication with hotel management, business partners, and co-workers carried out in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
