About The Position

Mackinaw Seasonal Resorts, Inc. is seeking full-time temporary hosts and hostesses for the 2025 season. The role involves providing excellent customer service by greeting guests, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, as it includes weekend, holiday, and night shifts, with an average of 36 hours per week. The employment period runs from April 1, 2025, to October 25, 2025, with opportunities for raises and bonuses based on performance.

Requirements

• Must be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff.
• Experience in a customer service role is preferred but not mandatory.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant setting.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide guests with menus and assign patrons to tables according to rotation.
• Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
• Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls.
• Operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages.
• Speak with patrons to ensure satisfaction with food and service, and respond to complaints.
• Take and prepare to-go orders and maintain contact with kitchen staff and management.
• Receive and record patrons' dining reservations and inspect dining areas for cleanliness.
• Inform patrons of establishment specialties and features, and assist with seating arrangements.
• Inspect restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies, and clean when necessary.
• Assist other restaurant workers by serving food and beverages, or by bussing tables.
