About The Position

The Host person is at the forefront of the restaurant operation and is the first and last person to interact with the guest. This role will also work closely and communicate frequently with front of house/ back of house management and staff to ensure seamless, successful guest service. Primary Job Duties: – Includes but is not limited to: Greet and welcome all guests upon entering the venue. Anticipate the guests' needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency. Bid farewell to all guests upon departing and extend an invitation to return to visit soon. Oversee daily restaurant reservations and pre-seating assignment, when necessary. Answer restaurant telephone courteously, quickly and efficiently. Perform all opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas. Rotate to other Food & Beverage outlets/venues, as necessary. Ensure all Resorts World core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied. Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review company documents, etc. Perform other job-related duties as requested

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of restaurant operations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Polished appearance and demeanor.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum experience 1-3 years as Host or Server in a fast-paced high volume restaurant
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Position required licenses – Food Handlers Card & Alcohol Awareness Card
  • Able to walk short distances with urgency
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality
  • Prolonged standing
  • Bending and reaching
  • Transporting, pushing, pulling, lifting and maneuvering items weighing up to 15 lbs
  • Eye/hand coordination
  • Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (SDS) and other instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Host person or a Server in a similar or related field.
  • Working knowledge restaurant Open Table management software systems.
  • Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
