About The Position
This position drives gasoline or diesel-powered tractor to move loaded and empty shipping containers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Uses tractor to move loaded or empty trailers to and from depending on location the port, rail yard, warehouse, and yard. • Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery. • Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspection of assigned vehicle and completes pre-trip/post-trip report; distribute as directed. • Serves as a relief driver during peak periods or when drivers are not available. • Other duties as they are assigned.
Requirements
- CDL class A required
- T.W.I.C. (Transportation Worker ID Credential) Card, allows access to the Ports
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Clean driving record, no SR22 insurance.
- Copies of your CDL and DMV record required prior to start.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
- Working knowledge of warehousing, forklift and pallet jack operations, and inventory processes preferred.
