About The Position

As a Host / Hostess at MAR Y SOL, you will be the first and last point of contact for our guests. You’ll manage the flow of the dining room, create a welcoming atmosphere, and ensure every guest feels comfortable, informed, and genuinely cared for throughout their visit.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of hosting experience in an upscale, reputable restaurant (required)
• Weekend availability (required)
• Natural conversational skills with the ability to engage guests in a relaxed and professional manner
• Strong integrity and sound judgment with the ability to make quick decisions
• Clear, articulate communication skills both in person and over the phone
• Highly organized and detail-oriented

Nice To Haves

• Open Table experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome and greet guests upon arrival, maintaining a smooth and organized entrance flow
• Manage the seating floor efficiently to support service and guest satisfaction
• Make guests feel comfortable while waiting; escort guests to the bar or directly to their tables
• Assist with pre-service setup and applicable closing duties
• Communicate clearly and confidently with guests, addressing inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
• Demonstrate familiarity with menu items and ingredients to answer basic guest questions
• Answer phone calls and provide accurate information regarding reservations, availability, hours, and services
• Maintain proper levels of stationery and materials at the host stand
• Interact with departing guests to ensure a memorable and positive final impression
