About The Position

The Restaurant Hostess serves as the first point of contact for members and guests dining at the club. This role is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, coordinating table assignments, and ensuring a smooth flow of service. The ideal candidate has a warm, welcoming demeanor, excellent organizational skills, and a strong ability to multitask in a private club dining environment.

  • Prior hostess, front desk, or customer service experience preferred.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor in a private club setting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Standing and walking for long periods during shifts.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs (menus, table settings, small supplies).
  • Working in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Guest Reception & Seating: Greet members and guests promptly and professionally, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Manage the seating chart and coordinate table assignments to ensure efficient service.
  • Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
  • Communicate wait times and reservation status with members as needed.
  • Reservations & Service Coordination: Manage phone and online reservations, ensuring accuracy and proper scheduling.
  • Work closely with servers and management to optimize dining room efficiency.
  • Monitor guest flow and table turnover to minimize wait times.
  • Assist with event seating arrangements and special dining requests.
  • Member Relations & Customer Service: Build relationships with club members, recognizing frequent guests and their preferences.
  • Handle member inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of daily specials, club events, and dining promotions.
  • Restaurant Cleanliness & Presentation: Ensure the host stand, entrance, and dining areas are clean and organized.
  • Assist in setting up menus, table arrangements, and special event décor.
  • Monitor the appearance and presentation of the dining room, reporting any issues to management.
