About The Position

Job Details Job Location: Boca Grande, FL 33921 Position Type: Full Time Qualifications and Requirements: Required: Three months of experience as waiter/waitress in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club. Minimum age of 18 required to serve alcohol Food handling certificate Must have floor experience in a high-end resort or restaurant setting Must have exceptional interpersonal skills, empathize with others and value teamwork Must possess a hospitality mindset with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences Must believe that service is a noble profession and have the willingness to always do the right thing Applicant must complete pre-employment background check and drug screening. Applicant may be required to complete pre-employment covid-19 test if required under federal or state guidelines at the time of hire. Preferred: One year of experience in a formal, fine dining setting Court of Master Sommeliers Certification - Level 1 or higher Experience in a multi-faceted food and beverage setting i.e. fine & casual dining, banquets, room service, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the Gasparilla Inn and Club’s 4 Steps to Memorable Service.
  • Exhibit’s the Gasparilla Inn’s Core Values.
  • Arrive for scheduled shift promptly and report to the Manager.
  • Reports to work meeting the dress code and appearance standard set by the Inn such as name tag and wine opener, etc.
  • Always maintain a high level of personal hygiene.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of: a) Scheduled daily activities and in-house groups. b) Daily house count. c) Hotel extension numbers. e) Hours of operation of each outlet, ambiance, menu selections and price range. f) Features and services provided by the hotel.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, and specials, liquor brands beers and non-alcoholic selections available in the restaurant.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of table and seat numbers, proper table set-ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code of the restaurant.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies and service procedures standards.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Greet and acknowledge all arriving guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly.
  • Accommodate all requests for information courteously.
  • Communicate VIP arrivals and special requests to designated personnel for follow up.
  • Monitor and ensure that all aspects of service conform to departmental standards. Notify respective personnel for problems to be corrected.
  • Complete closing duties as assigned.
  • Assist in set up of room and service of food and beverages to guests as assigned to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Take, record and relay messages in accordance with standards.
  • Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule.
  • Legibly document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to Manager.
  • Attend menu and wine tastings as scheduled.
  • All other duties as assigned.
