Hidden by design and intentional in every detail, P.S. Speakeasy is an intimate, upscale cocktail lounge inspired by classic speakeasy culture. Our guests arrive seeking atmosphere, connection, and a sense of discovery—and the Host is the first steward of that experience. P.S. Speakeasy is managed by Arbor Lodging, a leading hotel investment and management company with a growing portfolio across the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Arbor partners with premier brands including Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and IHG, and is known for its people-first, hospitality-forward culture. This role is ideal for someone who understands that how guests are welcomed sets the tone for everything that follows. Summary: As a Host at P.S. Speakeasy, you are the calm, confident presence that ushers guests into the experience. You manage the flow of the room with grace—balancing reservations, walk-ins, and pacing—while maintaining the discreet, refined energy of the space. This position requires emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, and an innate sense of timing.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a host, concierge, or front-of-house role in an upscale restaurant, lounge, hotel, or hospitality setting preferred
  • Exceptional guest service skills with a natural sense of warmth and professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain composed and organized in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
  • Attention to detail and an intuitive understanding of guest flow and timing
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and late nights
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required certifications

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly and confidently, creating a polished and memorable first impression
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating with intention and precision
  • Control the flow of the room to preserve ambiance and avoid overcrowding
  • Escort guests to tables with poise, offering menus and setting expectations when needed
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with servers, bartenders, and management regarding table status and guest needs
  • Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for menu offerings, specials, and basic hotel amenities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing host stand and entrance area
  • Answer phones, manage reservations, and respond to guest inquiries with professionalism and discretion
  • Support the service team during peak times while maintaining front-of-house presence
  • Uphold all company service standards, policies, and procedures
  • Remain on your feet and moving for extended periods and assist with light lifting as needed
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
