About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for positive experience of guests while maintaining the quality standards of the restaurant and superior customer service. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Control the flow of work in the room by seating guests in station rotation while maintaining guest lists and following and enforcing check issue procedures. Assign opening and/or closing side duties. Supervise side work and ensure completed lists of set ups of all stations before departure of service staff. Handle reservation book, take incoming telephone calls, note reservations and special requests by guests. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions. Perform general clerical tasks including maintaining logbooks and reservation books. Assist in table setting and general dining room maintenance during peak periods. Perform other duties as requested, such as executing special guest requests.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Knowledge of all menu items, prices and general service procedures.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights.
  • Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance (specific standards available).
  • Upon employment all associates are required to comply with the standards, rules and regulations which may be established by the Company and updated from time to time.
  • Associates who violate property rules or have irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules, weekends, holidays and overtime to reflect the business needs of the property.
  • Associates may also be required to attend group and/or department meetings in addition to the work shift as necessary.
  • In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
