About The Position

801 Fish St. Louis is looking for a Host to join our team! If you are an upbeat, social person who has a passion for excellent service and fine dining, and enjoys establishing genuine connections with guests, we want to talk to you! This is a part-time, non-exempt (hourly) front of the house (FOH) position working in a team-oriented, high-volume / fast-paced, guest-centric environment with the highest quality food & drink. In addition to Host duties, this position will also provide table clearing/bussing support to service staff. ELEGANT. ENERGETIC. FUN. DELICIOUS. The freshest concept to the 801 Restaurant Group Portfolio, 801 Fish offers pristine finned fish and crustaceans from the oceans of the world served in our restaurant located on Carondelet Plaza next to The Ritz-Carlton in the heart of Clayton. Fresh fish, crustaceans, and oysters are delivered to the restaurants daily to guarantee delicious, refreshing, and pure cookery. We can promise that our seafood is always served fresh, transported directly from the dock to your table; so fresh, if you closed your eyes you’d feel as though you were eating at a table right on the coast.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year, but preferably at least 2-3 years of host experience in a fast-paced, high-end / fine dining establishment.
Must be available to work 4-5 shifts, any day of the week, including evenings, weekends (Sundays required) & some holidays.
Knowledge of, and ability to work within, OpenTable and other computer systems.
The ideal candidate is a high-energy, detail-oriented professional who enjoys interacting with the public while maintaining a strong sense of hospitality, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have the ability to work effectively as part of a team, to multi-task, and to maintain focus/memory of information received.
Ability to communicate clearly (in person or via telephone) while demonstrating warmth & professionalism to guests in a busy, fast-paced / high-stress environment.
Ability to maintain regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
Physical ability to work on your feet, alertly, for extended periods of time
Physical ability to lift up to 30lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs (bussing duties)
Ability to bend, reach, squat, kneel, climb and twist
