About The Position

Santa Monica Seafood Market & Café is looking for a part-time host at our Santa Monica location. The host acts as a welcoming presence. The host's primary job is to connect with guests throughout the dining experience from the initial greet, seating, and departure. Manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests and support the team to the best of your ability. Service & Guest Experience: A welcoming attitude and actions that make our guests feel welcome. Add guests to the waitlist and quote them an accurate wait time. Seat guests at their table, ensuring they have everything they need; menus, kids’ menu, booster seats/highchair. Ensure constant communication with staff members, management, and the kitchen at all times of service about wait times, guest concerns, table dining, or other issues that may impact service. Be the friendly voice customers listen to when they call Santa Monica Seafood. Successful candidates must be able to work in a very fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities, as well as willing to be flexible with their schedules as work shifts may include days, nights, and weekends. Requirements

Previous host experience is a plus.
Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
Be able to easily maneuver highchairs, tables, chairs.
Successful candidates must be able to work in a very fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities, as well as willing to be flexible with their schedules as work shifts may include days, nights, and weekends.
