About The Position

We are seeking a warm and welcoming Host to create a positive first impression for our guests and members at The Seagate. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys providing exceptional hospitality from the moment guests arrive. The Host is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and waitlists, and ensuring a smooth flow of service in the dining area. This position requires strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to remain composed during busy shifts.

Requirements

  • Ability to deliver top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.
  • Perform high-quality work unsupervised.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and seek clarification when needed.
  • Accurate handling of money and operation of a point-of-sale system.
  • Able to work effectively in a busy restaurant environment.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to safely maneuver trays of food and other items as needed.
  • Comfortable with repetitive motions, including standing, walking, and reaching.
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures, including hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to perform tasks that involve bending, twisting, and stooping.

Nice To Haves

  • Restaurant experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests as they enter and manage the waiting list as necessary.
  • Provide guests with menus and answer initial questions.
  • Seat guests at tables or in waiting areas.
  • Assign guests to preferred tables while maintaining table rotation for balanced server assignments.
  • Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service.
  • Respond to complaints and assist in resolving them.
  • Answer phone calls, take reservations, and provide information.
  • Be knowledgeable of the menu.
  • Assist with other restaurant positions as needed.
  • Deliver excellent customer service.
  • Cultivate and enter guest data into guest management software.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
