Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • A professional and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to stay composed under pressure in a high-volume setting
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the team
  • Previous work experience as a host preferred but not required
  • Understanding of restaurant etiquette
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • Ability manage reservations
  • Demonstrable customer-service skills
  • Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid CA food handlers certification

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests upon arrival with warmth and professionalism
  • Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
  • Manage reservations using our booking system
  • Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas
  • Present menus and introduce the assigned server
  • Thank guests as they depart and invite them to return
  • Communicate effectively with wait staff to manage seating availability
  • Maintain a clean, organized reception area
  • Assist guests who may require special attention or accommodations
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to guest inquiries
  • Support the wait staff as needed to ensure a smooth service flow
