About The Position

Stockyards Tavern & Chophouse in South St. Paul is hiring immediately for a Host. This position performs host activities within the restaurant with primary responsibility for ensuring exceptional service by creating memorable guest experiences with pride, passion, and heart.

Requirements

• Minimum 1-year related experience in a high-volume, high energy, food and beverage environment.
• Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Alcohol Service certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to walk, squat, reach, use hands, talk, hear, see and occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Professionally answers all incoming phone calls and takes reservations utilizing appropriate standardized phone etiquette and dialogue.
• Provides positive guest recognition and relations through personal performance and attention to guest history, including familiarizing himself/herself with regular patrons and VIP guests.
• Greets guests in a timely and professional manner and escorts guests to tables.
• Performs reservation confirmations.
• Monitors the flow of the restaurant including table turnover, guest arrival, guest departure and pace of the restaurant.
